Midterm Project: Mock Medical Interview*
The Mock Interview process will refine the students’ ability to communicate with Spanish speaking patients and assess their health in a variety of situations. In Chapters 1-6 of Spanish and the Medical Interview, students have been presented with the communicative tools necessary to inquire, assess, and understand different cultural perspectives through dialogue. They will now draw on this information to practice the interview process with a native Spanish speaker. This project will assess the student’s ability to communicate effectively with patients in Spanish as well as their intercultural communicative competency prior to a real-life medical encounter with a Spanish-speaking patient in their professional context.
